I speak your language because I specialize in medical narration!
My background in healthcare coupled with a confident, clear and compassionate voicing style makes me a logical choice for your medical narration project, be it e-learning, commercial, patient information videos, or your specific medical voiceover project.
Medical terminology is not something that comfortably rolls off your tongue. The multi-syllable, weirdly spelled words truly are another language which takes practice and confidence to pull off with authority.
I worked in private Chiropractic practice for over 30 years, which means that I have used medical terms at all levels of understanding from explaining the diagnosis and treatment plans to patients to communicating with other health professionals and insurance companies.
I have also completed a Masters degree in Medical Education so using this complicated language has become very familiar.
I have quick and easy access to the Rocky Mountains for camping, hiking and skiing as well as golfing in the beautiful courses of the Foothills. I am fortunate to be able to share these activities with my husband, two wonderful grown children and a fantastic daughter-in-law.
Training
I was fortunate to train with some of the best 'of the best' in the voiceover business, in both in-person small groups as well as on-line training. I have attended sessions with Sean Pratt, Paul Reuben and Dawn Harvey for audiobooks, as well as medical narration training with J Michael Collins and Kim Handysides. My commercial training was with Julie Williams. Home studio set-up training was with Dan Lenard, as well as studio editing and mastering with George Whittam.
I have had performance and studio technique professionally assessed, both passed with flying colours.
Studio
I use an AT4040 mic, Steinberg UR22mkII interface, AKG K240 MKII headphones and an iMac computer in a professional-grade home studio.
